Are Fairy Non Bio Stain Removers safe for all fabrics?

Fairy Stain Removers are safe for all colourfast washable fabrics. If you’re unsure about the fabric, we suggest testing an inside seam for colourfastness. Always wash the garment according to care tag instructions.

Are Fairy Non Bio Stain Removers suitable for use on babies' clothing?

Yes. Independent dermatologists and midwifes have approved the Fairy Non Bio range to make caring for your baby's skin less of a worry. Because the product does not contain enzymes it is less likely to irritate sensitive skin than some alternative products.

Is Fairy Non Bio Stain Powder/Stain Spray suitable for use on wool and silk garments?

Fairy Non Bio Stain Removers are suitable for use on mixed fibres but we would not recommend using them on delicate pure wools and silks.

Does Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover work on all stains?

Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover works on a wide range of stains including fresh food and drink stains, ketchup, BBQ sauce, fruit juice, tomato juice, coffee, chocolate, tea and wine. I've used the Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover Powder/Stain Spray and it hasn't worked

Some stains can be harder than others to remove, and may require more than one treatment. There are further detailed instructions and advice in our Hints and Tips guide that you can download on the Stain Removers page that you might find helpful.

What makes Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover range kinder to skin than other brands?

Most stain removers contain enzymes, which can irritate the skin. Fairy is non-biological which means that it does not contain enzymes. The range is dermatologically tested, endorsed by midwives and has been accredited by Skin Health Alliance. All other ingredients are specially selected to be as gentle as possible for sensitive skins.

Please note: No effective household detergent can be guaranteed suitable for people with serious skin conditions. If you suffer from unusually sensitive skin, please contact your doctor for advice.

I have sensitive skin and want to know if this product is suitable for me?

The product has been specifically tested and dermatologically approved by the Skin Health Alliance. It does not contain enzymes that can often cause sensitivity. It is suitable for sensitive skin providing it is used according to the instructions. All the fragrances used in the product are specially developed to be as gentle as possible.

I've used the Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover Powder/Stain Spray and got the product on my skin and it has irritated it - will this happen if I use it to wash my clothes and then wear them?

If the product does come into direct contact with skin it may cause irritation in the same way any other laundry product could. When used according to the instructions it has been approved by the Skin Health Alliance and endorsed by independent dermatologists and midwives.

What are the Optical Brighteners that are in the Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover Powder?

Optical Brightener is an ingredient commonly used in many laundry detergents; its purpose is to make white coloured garments appear whiter and brighter.

Does Fairy Non Bio Stain Remover Powder contain bleach?

Fairy Stain Remover Powder does not contain chlorine bleach. Instead it uses an oxygen based formula which helps to remove stains in the wash.

What is in the Fairy Non Bio Ironing Water?

The ironing water is a special formulation that includes deionised water and a specially developed mild perfume. It prevents limescale from forming in your iron and leaves clothes soft and with the gentle fragrance of Fairy.

What preservative is used in the Fairy Non Bio Ironing Water?

The preservative in the fabric conditioner is Phenoxyethanol. This is a preservative found in many skin care products.

We do not test products on animals, or request testing of products or ingredients by any supplier or third party and we check regularly with our suppliers for changes to the testing status of ingredients.

Is the packaging recyclable?

All the packaging used for the Fairy range is recyclable but please check with your local authority to ensure that they can handle these particular materials.

I have lost the scoop/there is no scoop in my tub of powder - where can I get a replacement?

The product will not cause serious or lasting damage to eyes but if any discomfort or redness remains after 2 hours, visit your GP or go to A&E, taking the product packaging with you. Someone has had an adverse skin reaction to a product - what do I do?

Do not continue using the product. The products have been specifically tested under normal conditions of use and have been dermatologically approved by the Skin Health Alliance. If a product has come into direct contact with skin it may cause a reaction. Rinse the skin thoroughly with clean water for 10 minutes. If there is still a reaction after 30 minutes, visit your GP or A&E and take the product packaging with you.
